Meet Lori
Lori Drummond is a registered dietitian licensed in multiple states and board certified in oncology nutrition through The Commission on Dietetics Registration. For many years before starting her career, Lori was interested in healthy living and discovering the power of food. That long-held desire to help others toward better health became her professional passion when unforeseen life circumstances opened the door for Lori to pursue her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nutrition from the University of Alabama.
Over the past 17 years, Lori has worked in a number of hospitals with a variety of patient populations including the critically ill in ICU units and with patients being treated for a wide variety of health challenges including cancer, heart, diabetes, obesity, malnutrition and many more. For several years, she served in a key role for Cleveland Clinic’s transplant program in Weston, Florida. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, Lori assisted patients who prepared for and received liver, kidney and heart transplants. She later joined the staff of a Palm Beach County hospital where she specializes in oncology nutrition.
Lori's strong bond with cancer patients is rooted in her personal experience, having supported two close family members through their battles with cancer. Her grandmother battled pancreatic cancer, and her mother faced the challenges of lung cancer. Lori's role as the primary caregiver for her mother during her final months provided her with invaluable experience and empathy, which ultimately equipped her for her position as an oncology dietitian.
Lori holds a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management from the Commission on Dietetics Registration and brings almost seven years of experience in guiding individuals to enhance their well-being through weight management methods, including teaching group weight management classes.
As a mother of five and grandmother of 11, Lori is deeply committed to family health and continually seeks knowledge to adapt to our evolving world. Outside of patient work, you can find her on beach walks, building sandcastles with her local grandchildren or boating. She also enjoys traveling to Alabama and Oregon for outdoor adventures with her other grandchildren.
